Segment 1 (5:49): We start the show with Paul, manager of our local SAS Shoes. Today we are talking about Covid and we begin by discussing if we should still be worried about Covid. Then we discuss the symptoms of Covid, how to have a heightened sense of Covid if you are at high risk, and what puts people at high risk for Covid. Then we discuss the treatments of Covid. Segment 5 (1:07:15): We start the second half of the show with Mr. Fitness- Richard Derwald, coordinator of the Erie County Senior Fitness Program. Today we are talking about how growing older has never felt better and how you can read about this in an article in After 50 Magazine. Richard and Linda discuss how they see more vitality and more of a lust for life in our Senior Community than any other age group. Next we discuss Richard’s positive outlook on life. Then we discuss if the “good old days” were really the good old days, or if we are actually in them now. This may be the best time to be a Senior! Finally, we discuss how you can be a happier person if you are grateful.

Segment 6 (1:21:26): For this segment, we welcome back Mr. Fitness- Richard Derwald, coordinator of the Erie County Senior Fitness Program. First hear how he’s going to be in After 50 magazine, so be sure to be on the look out for it! Next we talk about the myths about aging and how Richard is hear to prove them wrong! It is what you make it. Linda and Richard get into these myths including if older people like to be alone, if Seniors should really be considered “over the hill,” avoiding exercise, and more! Segment 7 (1:34:51): Jennifer Stenak, Director of the West Seneca Senior Center is Linda’s next guest. We begin by talking about how great Senior Centers are now that we have the time to enjoy the things we want to do. Next hear how there is no membership fee except for a $10 a month gym fee, but most Medicare plans will cover it. Find out how many members they have, where they are located, how big their parking lot is, and about their new Pickle Ball court! Jennifer shares with us how welcoming their Center is, no matter your skills or interests. Then we discuss their served lunch program that runs Monday-Friday and their frozen meals you can order. Segment 8 (1:48:47): We wrap up the show with Dr. Dana Robbins, Physical Therapist and Founder/Executive Director of Home & Happy. Home & Happy is a nonprofit organization to keep older adults at home as long as possible. Dr. Robbins shares some of her history and what led her to create Home & Happy. She then tells us how physical therapy can help with everyday movements like getting in and out of the car or bathtub. Her goal is to get patients the equipment they need to be able to move and be independent. Her goal is to collect great equipment and reuse it for other seniors in their home. They can also help provide financial support if you need larger equipment. They work with anyone 65 years or older in Western New York. Then hear how they will drop off the equipment, set it up, and train you and/or your caregiver on how to use it. Finally, hear how they completely run off of donations.
